Yes, free hosting has been completely banned on all major link sites for a long time now. As good as your's may be now...you never know when a free host is going to make changes you have no control over. Which is why link lists don't accept them.

Hosting is pretty cheap these days, you may be able to find a plan that still allows you to run vid free sites. And yes, virtual hosting is absolutely fine for free sites. Many folks stay on virtual hosting for years.

As to which host, there are many reputable hosts out there. I'll post a few names that come to mind...no referral codes...just solid hosts I know of...

Webair Reasonable prices and lots of folks love em.
Cyberwurx I have a few friends hosted there that seem very happy.
Web1Host This is my other host, I've had a dedicated box with this guy for years. Rock solid and a great guy to work with.

That should give you a few things to look at. Also, do a board search for 'hosting'. The subject comes up from time to time, so you'll be able to get even more info there. Those threads can sometimes get a bit spammy though...which is why I gave you a few links to look at
