advice needed on how to punish the cheater
Some of you have probably seen my or somebody else's posts where I and some of you told our stories about skilledhost (the hosting company) cheating webmasters by disappearing.
In my case it was more than just unperformed hosting provider obligations. I was so stupid I registered domain thru them and when they vanished I lost access to the domain that I'd been working very hard on for some 6 months, since they registered the domain to their own name instead of specifying my info in admin contact. I know I was stupid not to check it out, but this is not the point. The point is: That happened almost 2 months ago. My domain (porn-review-site.com) just didn't direct to any pages. The name was registered to kevin gigen (one of skilledhost mother fuckers i presume). And you know what. After 2 months of being down the domain started to show an index page, which is some kind of web cam site. So I presume Kevin Gigen decided that everybody has forgotten that he had scammed and cheated them and now decided to make use of the fact that the domain is registered to his name and has some fair rankings on major SEs and PR3. What would you suggest to do in this case? P.S.: If anyone has been trading with porn-review-site.com, delete the links - they are no longer reciprocated |

If Kevin was close by I would kick him in the nuts. If he wasn't I'd listen to RawAlex. It's time to learn and move on.

Arghhhh...submit yer sites ya ruddy swabs!

I agree with Alex...it's an exercise in futility at this point.
You've obviously learned a hard lesson about managing your own domains. You've already done all you can by letting those who had trades with you know the situation. Anything beyond that is just picking at an old wound. |

All of you are thinking almost the same way I do! I'm not really craving to get back at him anyhow. This won't help! Just wanted to know the opinions.
It's really a hard lesson learned. If any webmasters still have domains registered thru hosts (even for free), my advice is to learn from my mistake and transfer the domain out to some registrar, where you will have your own account, which you have access to. |

I hear castration is an effective means of punishment.

Sounds like you got screwed in every kinda way Yauhen. There's not much you can do about it though.
I can't really advise ICANN procedure. I just recently investigated recovering one of my domains (they're using .co.za - African TLD) and it will cost me around $12,000 following ICANN protocol. Google and YaHoo pulled him from their index. MSN has not (pricks!) Like everyone has said, cut your losses and walk. I feel your pain though. Surfin' ........... I experienced castration as a young man and that is cold, cold, cold, cold, cruel. I can't believe you said that. It was painful beyond any kind of human belief. Kickin', screamin', bleedin', gougin', teeth marks, toenail marks, fingernail marks. Clothes flyin', dust flyin', hair flyin', I never did get my money, but when I walked out I had his nuts in a Mason jar ![]() I'd rather have the $$ though. (That formaldehyde keeps stuff forever!) You can have 'em for $103 (gotta bring your own jar) |

Trying is the first step towards failure
|
Mirror his sites, but them online on a dozen freehosts and watch him get some dup.content penalties

I really do feel for you Yauhen, I recently had *exactly* the same problem with my main domain. In my newbieness I did not realise the guy registered the very first domain I bought to *his* name and not mine, it was a son of a bitch getting him to send the appropriate forms off to nominet (the UK version of ICANN to a degree) even after I paid the cocksucker the £100 he wanted to 'sell' the domain I had already 'bought' back to me. I was lucky and got everything sorted, but it was a long and painful time of not knowing whether I'd lose the domain, so I really do know what you feel like doing to this guy.
I'll agree with Sir Moby here - if he's close by give the guy a good hiding. If not then just store the info in your brain - you'd be surprised how life has a habit of putting you in some very nice positions a few years down the line ![]() |

Kids are great, Appu. You can teach them to hate the things you hate and they practically raise themselves now-a-days, you know, with the internet and all
