Yeah it would probably be very painful but I'm not sure. My sense of touch is all screwed up on parts of my leg around it. In some spots it's numb but in other spots a gentle touch feels like burning and in yet other spots pinching trickles. I'm told it is because the nerves are crossed circuited. I do have one spot that I can press on one of the synthetic arteries that was put in and watch my lower leg and foot turn blue.

On a side note for some odd reason the back of my neck is kind of sore and burning a bit.
