How do you choose your link exchange partners?

Is that actually a pattern ? When GG adds a new niche/cat to his LL, everyone else jumps on it and add one too ?

We all follow each other it seems. He is adding some that I added earlier. I added a couple from DDave and Linkster and they added some of mine...just one big circle. Of course you need to have the submits to keep them floating
