Search Engine Submission

Okay; I figured after 6 years in this business, its time I get into learning about search engine traffic.

First question is, should I be manually submitting to SE's on a regular basis, and if so how often? Naturally I have a LOT more questions. It's just at this point, I don't know what they are.

It's far more effective to add a link back to a new site from one already indexed by the SE's. The bots will follow the link and index the new site. Of course the more sites linking back the better. If the linked anchor text is also keyword relevant, even better.

I generally get new sites indexed by Google within 30 days, and quite often within 14 days.

No, not unless you want a paid listing somewhere. Optimize your pages for the desired key phrases, develop as many relevant backlinks as you can, and let the spiders do their thing.
