computer shuts down all the time

Before Cleo posts, "Buy a Mac"

1. Double check your power. Swap power cords around. I know this sounds silly but I was flown 2,600 miles to push a plug at the end of an AS/400.

2. Make sure your graphics card does not think it's in SLI mode unless you have 2 graphic cards.

3. If any new service patches or hardward have been installed uninstall them.

4. The "unsecure active x" doesn't sound good. Try turning off Active X controls in IE and running Mozilla for a bit.

Didn't have to go quite that far, but, I have had a few similar cases with AS400.

- At one place the techies left a cable running across the floor. So some nice person unplugged it and rolled it up out of the way.
- Another place moved the PC that was part of a chain, and just left the 2 ends hanging.
- And another place got a little careless when stapling cables to walls.
