Recip Tables

Allright, I am a clean site type of person Is it ok with the big link lists, GG, Hoes, Smut etc to use a table with just text with the corresponding site as well as the corresponding cat??

Let me see if I can put an example here:

Green Guys Porn
Lesbian Sex

The top line linking to the is specified main page and the second line linking to his lesbian sex page?

Yes, this is called a custom recip. It's what most free-site builders eventually move to.

That being said, you'd better test and double test those links to make sure you have no errors.

Use the same anchor links as in their original recips and the same titles if you want to stay on people's good side.

Good luck

Yes, you'll find that most LL's prefer custom recips - as long as they're linked accurately. It makes the site layout neater too

Indeed, I love custom recips now, I have 20 on my index pages, which seems like alot, but they always go with the design, and actually take up very little space. like this one: http://www.rawpalm.com/fs/zoe/
I try to always make the recip tables match the sites layout and colors, pages look HIDEOUS with 10 buttons thrown on it!

That's a damn fine looking recip table

But, just to make sure those new to free sites don't get the wrong idea...was that site approved with the js in the code?

Thanks MrYum
and what you see in the code isnt java actually, its CSS, aka style sheets. its what alot of webmasters use for their fonts nowadays instead of the font tag, lots more pretty options I usually use dreamweaver to make my sites, and it actually defaults to using CSS whenever I change a font, and adds that in there on its own.

I could be wrong, it may be some wierd offshoot of js, but im 99% sure that css is just stardard in all browsers past 5.0 you should check it out, makes coding alot easier! google has tons of tutorials for css, really easy to learn too.

I sure hope nobody declines any of my sites for using style sheets, they all have them

Oh wow, just realized my stats do actually use javascript at the bottom I could use them without that little javascript snippet, but I wouldnt get a referer Ive used the same method for about 4 years now and have never been declined because of it.

Oh well, I guess either most webmasters kow its not harmful code, or they never looked down there, I know I never really have lol (i just use an ssi call to insert the code).

blah, time for bed
I assume you probaby knew what style sheets were then eh?

Yup, I'm vaguely familiar with css

Since this subject comes up regularly, I'm surprised that code is getting past reviewers. I'll just say, 'newbies, don't do it'...and leave it at that.

I'm often surprised how many LL's are emotionally attached to their recip designs and have a cow if you text them. But being a FS submitter myself too, I understand the economy of the text recip for builders so its always ok when someones submits one at TripleXXX.

But, I would caution about adding a whole bunch of extras becasue you now have the space (20 recips may be a lot). Main reason is because if you do you are likely to dilute the total traffic that the LL may receive and he/she is getting lesser attention than when you could only get 12 - 16 box recips on the page. IMHO I'd say if you do text, keep the same amount together.

Yeah, the recip tables that are pre-made by each LL owner might look ok by themselves but start putting them all on the one page together and you can end up with an ugly mess.

It's fair for people to ask whatever they wan't, people have their colours and graphics they use for branding. I just find it funny when some link lists state you must use their "correct" recip and it's not even written in html, invalidating your pages.

I always use CSS myself too. Never thought it could be a problem? It's pretty standard, even old-fashioned by now, I think

I too love custom recip tables, and use them myself. Tha was a cool table, I like the various shading of the recips, I might borrow that idea, I usually make all my recip boxes the same color that matches the site theme.
