I have three of the David Caruso versions on there too, and only one of the Las Vegas ones. So I guess the original is still my favorite. I agree they're trying to posture these CSIs as the newer/better breed of cops, like they're in charge of the investigations instead of acting as support for the investigators. As the shows evolve more and more in that direction I lose interest in watching them. I'd much rather see them concentrate on the science.
And yes, William Shatner IS Denny Crane.  Okay... I just checked and the dvr is at 95% full.  I evidently have the recording part down pat, but it seems like I've been neglecting the watching the shows part of the sequence. I think I might record too much TV.
