If any person in favor of anti-bestiality (where no animal is physically harmed) laws can come up with a morsel of rational justification for them (right alongside rationale for why doing sexual things with animals is somehow much crueler and more criminal than any of those other things I mentioned) then I'll gladly consign myself to the "retard" pile. Unfortunately this is one of those issues where people are totally irrational -- it has nothing to do with caring about animals or even people, and has everything to do with a hysterical fear of sex.

I realize this is one of those issues where people can't have a logical argument because they're so afraid everyone will label them sickos and perverts . . . and retards . . . if they use their brains for half a second. If no animal is hurt and the only humans that are hurt consented to it, then it's a victimless crime.

By the by, I do think the first guy to get in trouble here in WA since the law was passed TOTALLY deserved it; he was fucking a dog and totally hurting it. Of course, the animal CRUELTY laws should be sufficient to prosecute these kinds of assholes, though.

You know, I've done alot of drugs in my time, but not once have I ever had even the briefest flash of genius to decide to reach over and grab my cat and impale her on my cock. The human brain, for instance, is still very much a mystery. We may never tap it to the full extent. And being such, we haven't even begun to understand the animal brain other than dolphins, primates, and a few others. So how are you so sure it's a victimless crime?

What if, just what if, despite their lack of fingers and toes and the ability to walk upright, those animals brains are developed more than we realize? We seem to have come up with excuses for every type of mental illness and flaw in humans... ADD, ADHD, etc., so how do you know the emotional process of the animals isn't affected. Maybe the animals are sent spiraling into an abyssmal depression and long for the slaughter, much like abused people becoming suicidal. Their primitive communication skills prevent them from expressing their desire to not be used as a sexual tool, however you assume it's ok? What's next, Invalids?

Since we don't know, all discussion is strictly opinion and will remain as such until we have definitive proof one way or the other. I'd say it boils down to personal ethics and discretion. Being as I have a choice, I choose not to associate with or put myself in the position to be affiliated with anyone of that ilk.

I personally don't give 3 shits in a shoebox who screws what and I'm willing to turn a blind eye to much more than I'd like to, however, in a perfect world I'd recieve the same consideration when I opted to gouge animal fuckers and their advocates' eyes out with a t-bone.

I hear what you're saying, but it doesn't stand up alongside the other animals-are-here-to-serve-humans stuff like farming for meat, animal testing, etc. I mean, do you also want to gouge out the eyes of cattle ranchers? Scientists who torture and kill animals in labs?

I'm not ADVOCATING bestiality or saying that it's normal and perfectly cool -- no, I think in most cases it's pathologically insane and horrid and there are good reasons why it's taboo. What I'm advocating is laws (and arguments) that make sense.
