Those slaughter pics, those methods are banned here in the UK, all animal slaughter has to be instant.
Countries like france and eastern europe, asia and the middle east are the main culprites of in humain methods due to their backward society. |

Don't kid yourself. Animal slaughter is SUPPOSED to be instant, but you would not believe the margin of error that the gov't tolerates. Their suffering is not limited to their final moments either. Cows are moved to CAFOs (Confined Animal Feed Operation) at about 8 months of age, where they spend the next few months standing in their own waste flank to flank, gorging themselves on a mixture that contains flaked corn, vitamins, estrogen, antibiotics, urea (synthetic nitrogen made from natural gas), and beef tallow. Mad cow anyone? While the FDA has outlawed feeding ruminant protein to ruminants, they make an exception for fat and blood products. Cows are not meant to eat corn. When the corn ferments in their rumen, gas builds up till the rumen is pressing against the animal's lungs and it suffocates unless a hose is forced down it's esophagus. There are countless ways that our food animals suffer. We can only hope that those getting a 7 inch bolt through their forehead go quickly enough to kill him on the first shot. As for the others... on an assembly line that slaughters 400 animals per hour, mistakes are inevitable. McDonalds is said to tolerate a 5% 'error' rate. Back on topic- I know a woman who breeds huskys. She dons a rubber glove and jerks them off to obtain semen that she sells. The dogs seem to enjoy it I've heard/ ![]() Last edited by emmanuelle; 2007-05-04 at 09:59 AM.. |
