Here is the thing that I find kind of ironic about the 'interactive' web 2.0 thing. Its an old technique that never got life. Dial in amateurshomepage.com in the way back machine and that was a free, user submitted content site with a BBS and a chat.. a friend of mine built the chat for Roger way back in the day. I helped the guy (rog)move from a 100% free site to a members site. The interactivity there was GREAT! I got to know a lot of people from around the world and see the girls naked all the time... this was back in 1996-97 as I was just learning about 'making money' with porn.
Now it is called Web 2.0... go figure But if you can develop a relationship with your audience there is going to be money in it for you. spaz |

Hey Jay.. I have hit social 2.0 sites in mainstream and adult. I did/do get traffic from it, always some but not always a lot.
I finally figured out what the largest advantage was, in my opinion. Yes, sometimes you will get bursts of traffic - however you always get free backlinks, and with very little social interaction from visitors it can create free-easy-continual backlinks. Adult and mainstream wise, I did not do so well directly trying to make money from the traffic, but the advantages to easy backlinks was clear. |

Yup...that is true. The thing with porn, even though most people love it -- they don't want to come out in the open with it. Adult stuff is still a "dirty little secret for most people" -- therefore it has a long way to go in Web 2.0
