No hope.
I have been watching the US from outside for years, and have occasionally posted here and on other boards about the parallels between the USA today and the UK in the 1980s. I have pointed out that unless you make a stand now you will soon find yourself in the same situation that we were in when I started in this business. Look back over a few old threads to see the responses I got.
I gave up, America, it seems, has no intention of "standing up and being counted". Everyone simply says "It won't happen here" and buries their head in the sand.
