yup. That's what i'm waiting for. Friend got the upgraded version of the phone I have (the cingular 8215) he got the new 8525 that uses the UMTS/HSDPA and the speed is nice. He showed that you could stream decent music from the internet.

Plus I'm waiting just for more nice apps to be created before I jump. As of right now except for speed I'm happy with my 8125.

By the way, a friend of mine who's a senior tower tech told me that Christmas may bring G3 (UMTS) iPhones. This is not a sure thing but Cingular/AT&T is upgrading the G3 equipment in prep for SOMETHING and it's exactly what they did to prep for the original EDGE capable iPhone.

Like I said earlier the towers here have already have 3G UTMS on them and it's niiiiice. That's what I'm going to wait for. Not going to get a 400 dollar phone to just end up wanting the next version down the road shortly. I'm also wanting them to have more space on the things like the iPod touch has.
