![]() I admire your good intentions, but I don't feel sliding conversion rates are unique to VideoSecrets. I don't pretend to be an expert on adult marketing, but I've been around the business for awhile... almost 9 years. I'm working harder, and investing more time, but earning less for my efforts. I believe the "free porn" issue is the driving force behind this challenge.
Thousands upon thousands of free hosted galleries, free sites, free trials and so many other offerings with the word "free" attached... plus all the "tube" sites popping-up... is catching up with this industry, IMHO. It's a marketing strategy that's pretty much backfired... as adult webmasters, we've done a good job of convincing surfers that they really don't need to buy porn... and assume whatever risks they associate with buying porn... to enjoy and get out of it, whatever it is they want. Surf around, and see if you come across anything you just have to buy... it's easier and more impulsive to just to click on a link and move on to the next page or site to see what's there. Bottomline, there's just too much of everything. |

Well said, I do agree with all the free stuff on the net is doing the majority in this industry no good at all. After running a TGP myself for a couple of years, there is nothing but frustration.
May be its just me be being crap in TGP business. I have since then spent most of my time concentrating in the cam site area, I figure there is only so much a surfer can get for free in a cam site ( in terms of interaction ), gallery or tubes just simply do not offer such experience. There are still cam sites that are doing rather well, and the income I received is much higher than running a, say TGP. I like video secret sites and I know they can do better. I just wish they look at other sites and learn a little and stop thinking they are still the invincible top dog. Haven't anyone there read the first case study in business courses? See what happened to IBM when they thought they were invincible. |
