Apache overload?

I've been with My current webhost for 3 months. I've been running Auto Gallery Pro from the get go. The only other scripts are My traffic trade (Xclicks), and a web counter. The other night I went to log in to AGP, and the site was suspended. I contacted the webhost (247 Host), and they stated that My site was causing an "Apache overload" and that I had to upgrade to their "Premium Package" which is triple what I was currently paying. Is their claim valid, or are they just jerking Me off?

They're jerking you off. Unless you're doing something totally off the wall, AGP just isn't that resource intensive. Plus, why suspend your account? Why not notify you first? Sounds pretty chickenshit to me.

Bob I can't recommend colo-cation strongly enough, Sparky and his techs can not be beat for service.
I was having trouble installing a script today and offered to pay to have it installed, turned out I was trying to install the wrong version. Tom uploaded and installed the right version for me. no charge

We're currently making changes to our hosting products and have temporarily discontinued our colocation products.
I did forget about the WebPress blog I'm running on the site. Would that use alot of resources with the RSS Feeds and stuff?

Unless you OWN your own server that you planned on having plugged in at Colo, you shouldn't worry about their colocation services. It sounds like you are interested in his virtual accounts. http://www.colo-cation.com/virtual-hosting.htm

I've never heard of WP being a resource hog. In fact, I'd bet that most WP installs are on small virtual hosting accounts.

Yeah...I think 247 Host was dickin' Me around. I was checkin' out hosts this afternoon, and went with this plan Mega-Phase Plan. Decent plan for My needs?

Bob Bob Bob Bob
Did ya look at their blog http://status.midphase.com/index.php
Looks like a lot of down time to me
Did you catch this in their TOS:
Disproportionate loads placed on the server.
While our shared services are suitable for the bulk of our customers, there comes a time for some websites when they are better suited for a larger plan, which allows for more dedicated CPU and memory resources. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to discontinue service to any customer with a website or other hosted data that takes up more than 10% of the resources of the server's CPU. This means that if your website is found to be utilizing more than 10% of the CPU and memory of the service, we reserve the right to take your site offline. If this becomes necessary, you can either upgrade your hosting package, or request a pro-rated refund of the amounts you have paid in advance for the services. Due to the severity of this, and our ability to act quickly to correct these situations to avoid server issues, we will do everything reasonably feasible to provide you with a warning prior to taking your site offline, but we accept no obligation to do so.

Looks to me like your going to get hosed again Bud

I did read the TOS and spoke with their sales dept. They do offer 30 day Money Back Guarantee + 99.9% Uptime Guarantee

trust me your one blog isn't hogging shit.

I have boxes that have thousands and thousands of word press blogs all running and that can begin to put a little strain on the box.

Your one blog and tgp aren't doing a thing to hog anything.

your host just sucks.

Any tips for getting listed on Hun's Yellow pages? I've tried different gallery styles, niches, etc.

Not enough I'm getting around 2-3K/Day slowly feeding the site with paid traffic, and trying to work My way up with better trades.

- 2 rows of 4 thumbs
- banner

- text link with CLICK HERE

Also using content/niche/site/sponsor that nobody else is using works good.
