LOL! Been in Brampton, just outside TO for about 15 years, but I'm moving back in 2009. Got a bit of land in Dundas (just up McLaughlin Rd about half way to St Paul) but I'm not sure if I want to build there or move some place like Shediac or Cocagne. I lived all over down there, mostly in Gallagher Ridge on the 126, Dundas, Cocagne, St Antoine, Scotch Settlement, Dieppe,. and in those decrepit apartments that used to be across from the dart club in Moncton.
Haven't been back in a while, had a buddy lived at St George & King, I'm thinking that's probably Georgetown East end is the best part of the city!
Don't even know the good bars down there anymore, I used to hang out at Spanky's, Twister's, the Lafayette, Dooley's on Mountain Rd, Fat Tuesday's, and the bootlegger's in New Scotland. I know the bootleggers isn't there anymore, and the Laffer is a strip joint last I heard.
Can't wait to get back and get a poutine rappee, garlic fingers and an ice cold Alpine!

If you have land in Dundas definitely hang on to it!! All that area is building up like crazy. You should see what they did to Indian mountain. Mansions popping up everywhere. A huge chunk of Scotch was bought up (IE: Forced out of farmer's hands) by Dieppe for a water project they abandoned. Shediac is starting to be a nice place too. Building up nicely on outskirts. Landscape has changed a lot around here. Land is not cheap either.. could be a nice little cash-cow for you in time if you have enough land.

Georgetown is the Killam drive/coliseum area. I'm right across Snow park (not the low rentals ick...).

Out of all those places you mentioned the only bar that survived is Dooleys. All condos and old folks homes behind dooleys now. Even a new tims, walmart, couple strip malls and a futureshop (where i work lol)

Vaughn Harvey is extended right straight to riverview now under the Via station and over a new bridge that replaced gunningsville. Downtown behind main by waterfront all built up now too with condos and businesses.

You're going to love the new Barnyard BBQ restaurant on Mill Rd. Every kind of beer imaginable is brewed right there and they have THE best steak and poutine in the world.

Gawdamn we got a lot in common! I sold high end audio for years up here,
left that and sold high end appliances, now I sell low-end smut
Agree though, I miss the face to face sales, it's a lot of fun!
I hear ya about land prices, I've got 3 and a half acres on Trafalgar Rd with a nice little brook in back. Not sure I want to live there though, too many relatives
A cousin just moved out of there to Weisner, I might look around there.
Shediac, when I think about it, was overcrowded years ago, I like the St Antoine-Cocagne area though, I like French babes so much I married one from Moncton
I'm heading down there this summer for a look around, we should get together for a cool one!
Glad to hear the Gunningsville bridge is gone, that was a freakin mess.

I was never really crazy about Weisner area. Maybe bad experience with an ex from there ruined it for me.. haha who knows. Cocagne is really nice. Very beautiful in the summer. Bouctouche too. Really like it there, just get yourself a truck if you move in any of the outskirts though.. the roads became treacherous.

PM me when you get to monkeytown we'll meet up
