One earring. Got it when I was 20 or 21. I felt a little depression coming on, so I got an earring. Sort of spontaneous. I felt like a pasty, skinny dork at the time, so I thought some edge would offset that. I remember telling the woman who made the hole "I'm told straight guys wear earrings on one ear and gay guys the other -- I'm straight, so put it in the straight ear -- whichever that is because I don't know."
