I'm a dog person and have to say the long hair looks better, but the short hair is probably more practical.

He's a dog - there's not a shitload of grooming - it's not like he has to wash it, use conditioner, get out the hair dryer, add gel....his grooming consists of going & getting his hair cut

I have 5 dogs...they get a buzz cut every once and awhile because if you let them off the leash they usually find the dirtiest possible thing to roll in...I have a pretty big fenced in yard so now they sport a little longer hairdo.

My neighbor has this white chow, the dog looks like a giant cottonball, his favorite thing to do...find mud and roll in it. I love to see my neighbor have a conniption over it, lol.
