My take on the story is that it exposes the problems with 2257 in the modern world. And to that, I say hurrah - despite his modicum of irresponsibility.

First off, my post is more about that asshat & tubes maybe getting into trouble than 2257

I pretty much agree with what you said about the 2257 problems, but we have to live with it until it gets struck down. And yes, civilians can get mixed up in it.

As far as intent, while 2257 is the law I see no problem using 2257 as a weapon against illegal tubes.
