I think a lot of porn's appeal is the taboo, and I'm not surprised that the taboo is stronger in women.

Precisely...society views sexual behavior in women very differently than it does men. Sexual behavior that is expected for men is usually frowned upon for women. When you are not supposed to do something, the thrill of doing it often increases dramatically.
