![]() Sunday!
![]() It's snowing ![]() ![]() I watched 2 great movies yesterday: 1st it was Interstellar. Then, I watched Exodus: Gods and Kings. Both were great works of fiction ![]() ![]() PS - Exodus vs Battlefield Earth: one is (probably) accepted as truth by a majority of people, the other is mocked relentlessly by a majority of people. I look at both of them as just good old entertaining fictitious movies ![]() Awake & aware today, so I think I'm gonna work as much as I can, maybe watch a hockey game or two, and get The Bitch ready for her 1st day at work tomorrow ![]() |

It supposed to reach 91 degrees here today so we'll probably stay in. Minor work stuff and some relax time is planned instead.

No snow here, windows are open and it's a bit on the warm side this morning.
I took a couple of newbies out kayaking yesterday. They rented a tandem and the girl in the back spent most of the time smoking and drinking a six pack while eating a huge bag of chips. Since you can't paddle and use your hands for sometime else she did very little paddling and when she did try to paddle she mostly just dragged her paddle in the water. It was the slowest paddle that I've ever done so I paddled backwards next to them, but even then I was going too fast for them. Doing a bit of work on the car part site that I'm being paid to do and then doing some yard work. After that I have no idea what I'm doing. |

Good Day
![]() Well it is cooler here, the heater even kicked in this morning. Today should be mild and nearly 30 degrees cooler than last weekend and I'm okay with that. Have the grandson coming over today which will be good since I think I'm going to do my bills. He always puts me in a better mood ![]() |

The bar down the road re-opened just before Christmas and started doing Sunday roasts sometime in January, so today I thought I'd try them out. To be fair on them I had lost track of the time, so it was well past lunch time by the time I rocked up (about 3:30) but since they advertise that food is served from 12 to 7, it was well within "service time". God the food was awful. Most of the veg was dried out, as though they cooked it at 12, then left it under a heat lamp for three hours. The meat was dry. And somehow they had burned the cauliflower - I have no idea how this is even possible, let the pan boil dry I suppose. And it was not cheap.
Still, at least the Yorkshire pudding was good. Quote:
Battlefield Earth is a "good old entertaining fictitious movie"???!!!!!! You must have seen a remake or something, because the version I saw was a pile of that stuff that comes out of the back end of cows! |

Hell, I can even believe that Moses thought he spoke to God on numerous occasions. People think they talk to people that aren't really there all the time. What I can't believe is that every 1st born male son was killed by whatever (aka Creeping Death) UNLESS you had recently painted your door with lambs blood. Come on. ...and yes, I did actually like Battlefield Earth! Maybe it's because I had no idea who L Ron Hubbard was and didn't really know it was supposed to be attached to Scientology - I just thought it was a decent sci-fi movie ![]() |

That is not exactly what I meant. I meant the Exodus actually happened. The "miracles" may have happened (either coincidence or genuine "acts of God") or they might never have happened, and the stories got exaggerated by retelling before the story was written down (the earliest description of the Exodus we have was written generations after the events actually occurred).
You know, I find it easier to believe that God parted the sea than I do to believe that someone actually enjoyed Battlefield Earth! If the film had not been a piece of religious dogma for a crank religion it would still have been necessary to mock it, simply because it was a really bad movie! |
