I've had problems with trying to get even two cashed with their bank at the same time.

no, just had the one check...
now my Canadian bank is holding ALL USA checks for 21 days before i can get the cash, thanks Richard

You are bloody lucky. In the UK we have always had to wait 4 to 8 weeks to cash a US cheque!

Reason given: America's banks use such shitty, backwards, outdated technology that their equipment won't talk to European banks' more modern equipment and it has to be done manually!

Me, I think it is because, since Americans don't know how to spell "cheque", it takes them 4 to 8 weeks to work out what one is!

Its normally 21 days in canada for USA checks to be held. Of course my bank waived that many years ago but because of Netverifier, they are now gun-shy of all my US checks and are holding them for 3 weeks.
