Good Morning

I will finally be able to pick up the car today as they finished the mechanical work and it's now getting the spa treatment, BMW term, which means a full detail job so it will be all shiny and clean

ecchi, it's getting chilly here too as I had to turn on the seat warmers while driving the convertible with the top down yesterday

Have family arriving today, hopefully after I pick up the car, and we are going out to my favorite steak house tonight. Their filet mignon melts in your mouth so I will be overeating tonight and tomorrow

Well, looks like someone is living high on the hog!! I shit you not: up until probably 2010 or so, we probably had steak 3-4 nights a week - it's the reason I got the Viking stovetop with an indoor grill & massive restaurant style vent/fan. These days, if I eat steak, it's either because my mom bought it or it's New Year's Eve...

The times, they've been & are a changin'...

Last night I sure was but only because my in-laws (the ones with money) are in town. Every time we visit them they treat us to real nice restaurants (ones they frequent very often) so we needed to return the favor. We only get to this restaurant once or twice a year because it's pricey. BTW, filet was devine and the chocolate souffle for dessert was delicious.

I remember your Viking stovetop because that's the one I like. Yes, times are a changing and hopefully they will start changing for the better so you can use your Viking frequently and I can visit 555 monthly!

That surprises me. I always assumed that steak would be cheaper in America than Britain, but if I buy from my local butcher I can get a quarter pound steak for about half what a quarter pound burger costs in McDonald's.

That is cheap steak (aged about sixty seconds) but if I want the good cuts, well hung, I can get a quarter pound for about one and a half times the cost of a McDonald's quarter pounder!

And I even got a neighbour who can get me steak from Prince Charles' estate at about that price too. Steak reared by the next king of England!

(Although I doubt my neighbour gets it legitimately.)

P.S. I'm having steak tonight, but that is part of a pile of steaks and a large joint of roasting beef that my neighbour gave me to pay off part of a debt he owes me. You want real cheap steak you need junky neighbours desperate for the cash for their next fix!
