Best way to acquire links from the Big Boys?

What is the best way for me to get links from the larger link list sites or other sites that can provide me some strong traffic.

Do I simply have to wait until my site has grown large, before It would be considered by other link list owners?

I have many smaller link list trades, and they are great, just looking for more.

you should remove the links to the doorways, if your link partners notice this they might pull down your links.
