Great discussion so far. I can certainly agree with the concept behind traffic trading..."If I can't sell something to this surfer let someone else try and send me another surfer back." If I do actually start up a TGP I'll give the surfer galleries on the first 2 or 3 clicks then start the skim percentage from there...but it seems to me that the right model would be to keep the surfer long enough to make a reasonable attempt at selling him before sending him away.

It just seems that the traffic has become an end in itself for many, whereas the truly successful people I've gotten to know take the true measure their traffic and their sites by how much money they make per unique visitor...be it .05 cents or 2 cents.
