I feel your pain (or at least I once did). I've been battling a serious disease of my own for more than a year and along the way one of the meds they tried on me wound up nearly giving me a heart attack (I wound up with severe chest pains). I went to the ER and they put me through every diagnostic test imagineable. I had insurance at the time so I didn't get bent over that badly (what they didn't cover wasn't that bad), but I did find out what the full bid was and I'm sure that I gave someone at my HMO a heart attack.
In regards to your medication problems you're a bit in luck as I can somewhat help you with this. Go to
http://www.RxHope.com (a former employer of mine [my .com that I used to work for]) and browse their patient assistance listings to see if your meds are covered. Even if they don't have an online app for it every pharmaceutical company has a PAP for their meds and can help you out. If their database is anywhere as good now as we had it then you should at least get the contact info that you need. You can also try
http://rxassist.org/ and see if they have the PAP forms and contact information that you need.
