Time for a better script
As the year comes to an end I've decided its time I used a better script for Foxy's Sex Clearinghouse.
I was going to go with Xpowerlinks but now I learn that it has zero import capability (short of a script to import old links that they will run for you). So to those of you running Links Sql does that script let you import for example sponsor hosted freesites easily ? Does it make blacklisting morons that cheat and don't read rules easy ? Thanks for everyone's help I hope you all have a great time over the holidays !!

I spent some money on plugins and some custom work to it so now it does but not as it comes.
Banning is simple and quick and its built in link bot works very well. I did buy a much better banning plugin then what it came with. I bought the import plugin so now I can import pipe or other separated text files. I also bought a few other plugins. They have an active support board. There is someone named Andy that hangs out there that did a lot of my custom work and wrote most of the plugins that I bought. The script was pure hell to setup and get running the way I wanted. I still want to add a few other things to it but they are minor things. |

Hi Cleo,
Thanks for your advice. What specifically was the hell with setting it up ? I installed and configured Links2.0 with no problem, and once I had looked at some other templates I easily figured out how to customise the look of the site, and subsequently making changes and applying little patches hasn't been too hard. But Links2.0 just isnt up to the task of running a large LL, plus it has no import so I can't get the sponsor hosted free sites in (without doing it manually which I just don't have the time for) I'm not very happy to hear Links SQL doesnt do those things out of the box, import capability would seem to be a pretty damn big thing to have from day one..... Oh well its still my number one choice unless someone has any other suggestions. And whilst I'm here I have another question you might be able to help with.... Do you know any designers that build free sites templates ? I have been planning to buy ContentGod and would like to have someone produce templates for Free Sites (and galleries) on an ongoing basis. Cheers,

Pervy,
My link list script, DragonList has a very basic import function. It's adequate if you're going to import batches of hosted sites at a time, but it's not built to import your existing database, if that's what you're looking to do. Considering the many potential differences from script to script, what Xpowerlinks is offering is about the best deal you're going to find. I offer a similar service - I can help you import your existing links, but it's going to depend on how your current database is set up. Someday somebody will get ambitious and create a script that will import most of the known linklist script databases, but that can be done fairly easily using PHPMyAdmin - it would be like reinventing the wheel, IMO. |

@mishi: so you're saying that xpowerlinks is a good deal ?
I am myself looking for a link list script, the price for link-admin is kinda pulling me off and was thinking about xpowerlinks. |

Mishi,
Dragonlist looks very interesting, I've tried the demo and it seems to have all the features I am looking for. Can you provide any reference examples of people using your script for an Adult LL ? Thanks Pervy Quote:

grzepa Xpowerlinks is a great script. I use it on my link list now. On this upcoming up there will be alot of features that the big guys use on there scripts just has rotating links, includes for easier designs so its less templated, and more bot stat checking features. Xpowerlinks is the best you can get anywhere around for that price IMO. You should talk to Pentarh Udi #319797319 and he will set you up with a trial account so you can see how the backend and everything works. Its very simple to comfigure and the bot saves you tons of time my checking sites to see if there are any cheaters redirecting your traffic, taking down recips, or if they have 404 pages. The support is pretty good too thats why they have this updated coming out cause they take advice well. There are 3 features being added just cause I asked

As it comes it only can import from the links version that you are running. What do I like about it is all the good support it has and all the plugins that are made for it. Like the plugins on this page. http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scri...ql/plugins.htm |

Ahhh ... sweet pity. Where would my love life be without it?

Just wanted to say thanks to all those who offered opinions and information in this thread. I'm looking to buy a script as well, although I wasnt impressed much with xpowerscript or links2. So I think im going to go with linkadmin. It's a bit pricey, but im confident that its what im looking for. Anyway, just offering my opinion. cheers.

The script is fairly new so there are only a handful of people using it at the moment. I'm using it at XXXGoodStuff (in my sig). I'll check with my other users and see if they're cool with me talking to you about them. Sound okay? |
