CAMS.COM GOES BOTH WAYS WITH TWO-WAY CAMMING
It’s official: Cams.com is going both ways!
Members on one of the web’s most popular cam sites can now both view the models and let the models see them … one step closer to a true virtual experience. And the result has been record sales and record profits for affiliates. Members just need a simple webcam to broadcast to models they chat with during a private one-one-one show. Members can also talk to the models though live audio. All chats are now Flash-based so members see the model and their own streaming video, along with all controls, in the same window. The new feature comes in response to member requests and is part of a major site upgrade that includes a faster frame rate, support for emoticons (“smileys”), and enhanced performance. “Two-way camming has been our No.1 feature request and the response has been unbelievable,” says Legendary Lars, vice president of marketing for Various Inc., which owns Streamray, the parent company of Cams.com. “Instead of a one-way show , members can now participate and become part of the action. That means they stay online longer and affiliates make more money.’ In addition, members pay extra for the two-way camming…and affiliates in the rev-share program get a cut of it. Cams.com has been online since 1998 and is one of the leaders in model webcam broadcasting with more than 1,500 entertainers on the site. Various is a pioneer and innovator in online dating and networking, empowering members to create virtual communities where they can privately and comfortably meet people with similar interests in a safe and stimulating environment. The privately funded company has 300 employees and operates the FriendFinder Network, Streamray and Spring Street Networks and is based in Palo Alto, Calif. |
