different ads in wordpress?
Hey
Is there some kind of plugin to wordpress, which allows you to create different ads/sidebars/header depending on what category the surfer is in? Like if they click the teen category, they are getting teen banners etc.. like for a general blog if different niches..? Thanks |

Aw, Dad, you've done a lot of great things, but you're a very old man, and old people are useless
|
I'm not sure about a plugin that can accomplish this, but you can add some simple logic into your templates that will display different sidebars based on the kind of page (index or post) or category ID.

Depending on the size of your blog network, http://www.openx.org/ is the old phpadsnew which will do what you need and quite a bit more.
There are other software packages that will do ads, but, phpadsnew is pretty well known (though complex at times). Cleo wrote an article on the board a while back, but, I can't find it offhand. Even though it is for an older version, the technique is still the same.

You may find something on this page. I used it for category pages about a year and a half ago.
