Twas The Last Sunday Of October ...

Good morning.

Today I am looking forward to creating my new 2TB RAID NAS box. I will be using FreeNas which is based on BSD Unix. Once I get that running I plan to back up my websites to my house (or at least the backups I make). First, I have to do yard work that I put off from a couple of weeks ago. It relatively nice out today (10C / 50F) so I have to take advantage of days like today before the snow comes!

Good morning and / or afternoon board.
I just did the grocery shopping for few next days, my lovely gf is already cooking something for tonight.
I'll be doing the usuall coding on my network. After that a movie or get together with friends.
Oh and thanks to ecchi I already got amiga emulator and settlers ready to play. I wish I had more spare time in the near future to play it for few hours

Just got in from kayaking. We took our tandem kayak since that was easier on my leg than dragging out two kayaks and double the gear. We were the group leaders with mostly beginners in rentals and guided them through the mangroves. It's a gay Meetup group that we have been out with once before. They are a really a lively fun group and we all had a great time. Looking forward to finding more places to take them kayaking but our options are limited since most of them need a place with kayak rentals.

Other than getting all the mud and salt off of us and our gear we might go over to the AT&T store to see if they have any iPhone 5s 32 gig models available in slate or whatever it is Apple is calling the black model.

My daughter is currently 1240th in line for a 5S 32G gold phone. Maybe she'll get it before the iPhone 6 comes out!

...but those shots are from Cyprus. We have even less money than Spain, officially, which means rents and shopping prices have come down, whilst the fancy property developers and investment bankers in their Porsches have become a rare sight - terrible

...and sadly Obama doesnt really care what people chatter about on our mobiles in a country with less people than a backwater county in North Dakota

Don't you dis them Russian gangsters, I used to make good money from websites for them! (Had to wash it through an offshore bank though. At the time UK banks did not like taking money in Roubles in case it came from Russian gangsters!)

Yeah, survived the storm, but when I tried to get a train to North London, nothing was travelling more that four stops northwards. Trees fallen on the track I guess.

Our media was a little "overstated" about the storm too. Yesterday they all but inferred that we would all die and England would sink into the sea!

We get Sky News(trashy journalism) and BBC News via satellite. Sky portrays the English as not being able to handle a puff of wind, a drop of rain or a snowflake without the country comming to a halt. I laughed at one reporter on a beach complaining about the high winds, and not a hair on his head was being blown out of place!

It is good to see some English are made of sterner stuff!

I can remember, as a child on holiday, sitting on the beach with a portable windbreak set up to stop the wind. It started to rain - did we go back home?
