maybe a blind person? or a lonely person?
years ago I used to use compuserve's news clipping service and feed that to a cassette tape that I would listen to while I was driving around doing computer service calls. It was the news I wanted to listen to, rather than what was being broadcast on the radio. When you're driving down the road, it can read directions to you. When I run kismet, it tells me what wifi networks are nearby and which are encrypted. I could carry my laptop in a backpack or in my car and hear what it discovers.
