I hate popups on tours. One popup isn't too bad.

Email boxes? If you want PPS then you have to accept them. That's how they can pay by collecting emails and using popups since crosssells are basically gone. Check who uses them and see if you are still converting decently and if they are paying per signup deal with it.

If a revshare program uses them then I'd be a bit more pissed. I hate traffic leaks on tours.

I don't agree Ramster.

Having being involved in 2 PPS programs and presently running my own private program with multiple paysites, I know how easy it is to pay $30+ per signup with average retention, even on a trial. Email boxes are simply not needed.

Even with soft member emailings, an unchecked cross-sell, and moderate members area upsells I would be making around $47-51 per signup given an average retention on a $3.95 trial. Plenty of room for $30 pps.

Again these are my experiences with my sites with only around 11000 joins data.

Traffic leaks on tours are an unnecessary $ grab in my opinion, and thats all it is ... my opinion. Then again I am coming from a background where getting affiliates and traffic has been an uphill battle. If I was raised in the '96-'97 days i am sure my outlook would be quite different.

Fair enough

I agree there are plenty of sites that retain well enough they could offer PPS fairly without traffic leaks.

And there are many sites that cannot. But like was already said, simply send your traffic somewhere else.

I'm of the school...your traffic...you send it where you like. If a sponsor does something that really annoys you, flip the switch off on them, go to somewhere else.

If you convert really well with the sponsor and still want to stay there...well that's just a price of doing business with them. I think it sucks that there's such a money grab and I would probably just go with another sponsor.

What would you suggest doing if you had already paid for gallery spots and the like made for them?
I suppose you would just stop working and let the traffic play?
I am in a situation where I just learned of a sponsor doing a lot worse and at least in my case its not as simply as flicking the switch off.
