Took the hint.

Sadly, the courts have never seen fit to slap cities or counties up side the head too hard about this stuff. Under the guise of protecting the children (where did I read that this week) they pretty much can get away with limiting the rights of individuals for the poor children.
I am convincing myself more and more that this is one of the routes that will be taken. Alex |

That sucks, Torn! So sorry you lost your club.
We had a case like that here (Denver, Colorado area) a few years back. A very popular and well-known topless club had been in the same location for over 15 years and no one, and I do mean NO ONE, had complained. Then there was an election and the assclown that became mayor decided he didn't like it... so he called in a few favors and had the zoning laws changed. He did this without consulting his constituency and very quietly and behind the scenes. All of a sudden... BAM... the club was hit with a 24-hour cease and desist and the doors were literally chained and locked by the Denver PD. People were seriously pissed... the story made headline news around here for the better part of a month. Needless to say, the do-gooder in question wasn't re-elected when his term was up. It scares the hell out of me what one obsessive-compulsive bible thumper with a mission can accomplish with so little effort and a whole lot of attitude. ![]()
