Finding a new location to live without having visited and seeing what the local customs are and whether you even like the area would be difficult. If you're going to live there year round, go during tourist season and go during their 'bad weather' season. If you don't like rain, some tropical areas have quite a bit of rain. If you're looking for sunny outdoors tropics, then there are other areas to consider. Tough decision to make until you've been put in it. When we made the decision to move to Florida, I looked at the averages, 69" of rain a year. We came and spent a month in the area, talked to people, found a place. Then we moved here in the middle of rainy season and for the next 30 days, our little city set a record for rainfall. Almost 60" of rain -- talk about thinking we made the wrong choice. Then we had a two year drought which is more what I thought Florida was going to be like. Since then, things have normalized and while I don't like rain, it is less of an annoyance than what I had to put up with living outside Washington DC. ![]() Tough decision to make. Good luck with it.
