RANT: Fix my fucking internet before I go insane!

I've been using my backup ADSL from Earthlink since the storm took out my cable modem and fuck is it slower. Earthlink does offer a faster speed but since this is just for backup I'm only paying for their 1.5/128 service. Cable modem is 6/768 and it's the slower upload speed that really is killing me but surfing is also noticeable slower.

But other then moving I can't really think of anything to help with your connection problems.

I know it would cost a little more but you might check to see if they have biz connections available - they can put a little circuit card in your switch to boost the signal for a business connection that would greatly improve speeds - of course for me where I am (10 miles away from the switch) it took a lot of investigating to find the right person to talk to get the technical end done - most installers know about the cards, but most "customer service" types have no idea other than whats on their screen
