I'm not aware of a way to shut it down in ICQ.
But, having switched over to Miranda a couple years ago, I don't seem to get them anymore. While Miranda does take a little getting used to (what new software doesn't), it also doesn't have the ads of ICQ and is a smaller 'footprint' on the system. |

If youre runing icq pro go to the main button - choose security preferences
Under communication events - you should be able to set whether to receive those |
