I read the article and I agree, nothing but rumors. Also, why on earth would Google artificially improve the SERP's for people who buy adwords for those key words??? to make them stop their campaigns? just doesn't make sense.

I fail to see the logic behind that as well. Google would rank people with adwords worse because they would want to make more money instead!
