Blogs are doable but how do you get surfers to go there?

I've had my blog up for a little over a month and get only 500 uniques a day on average. All the points listed by the others above are excellent. In fact, I just spent the afternoon building a freesite, with links promoting my blog. Hope it gets approved

When I chose my theme, part of my decision was based on the big RSS button that's located on it. Like mentioned above, I did it to promote RSS subscribers.
I usually update with new posts daily, at least with a little something, and try to be original and non generic.
Here is a little list of some adult social sites that you can submit to.

I am just now starting to get indexed with Google, so yea, my SE traffic pretty much sucks, but it's gaining. I monitor my SE status with the webmaster services from Google, MSN and Yahoo.
And for what its worth, I'm a member of Technorati and make sure they receive a ping when I update. I also ping to a bunch of others using a web based service.
Keep at it and be patient.

very good for only one month! The first blog I put up I was getting about 200 per day after 2 months and I was pretty damn happy with that at the time.
