I agree. If you take a few seconds in Photoshop or Gimp or whatever, you can easily create clear images that aren't exceptionally heavy. I can't stand reviewing grainy over-optimized images. It's not even worth my time. Webmasters aren't keeping up with the technology and quality that many sponsors are pushing and therefore not representing them to the best of their abilities. The "under 100kb" rule is soooo 2006.
