You have a lake in your front yard.

It's still raining sideways here off and on plus we are getting really strong wind gusts.

Looks like the tree in our front yard has lost a few small limbs. I guess we get to play with chainsaws tomorrow.

Wonder if the state is going to drain lake Okeechobee again resulting in water restrictions again?

Morning everyone!

No lakes in our front yard here, and glad you guys are safe so far.

@abatis, I saw that pic on facebook and laughed out loud. I was in hurricane Ewa on Hawaii years ago which basically didn't effect much of Oahu, except where I lived, so most people got that pic, we had no power or water for 2 weeks. Just glad so far all the Florida people seem to be having only minor damage.

Jim was up early, so got some grocery shopping out of the way, and now home building free sites and 3D pics. Have a good one all and stay dry!

Lake Okeechobee is at 12.48' right now. At the end of rainy season, it is supposed to be at 16', so, they shouldn't be draining it.

Right now, our streets have streams of bubbles coming up. Like little pinholes with bubbles - rather odd effect, and impossible to get a decent picture of. Kids are riding their bikes/scooters in the street, some are swimming, using skimboards.

I thought the lake would be full by now.

Guess too much of the rain has been down here and not enough where it's needed.

Their measurements update a few times a day. Much of the rain that fell is also trapped in stormwater systems in central florida - which will trickle down. But, much of the rain that fell, fell to the east of the lake.
