You ever read David Brin's Earth? Some of it is real god-machine stuff, but he describes a ubiquitous recording society - everyone wearing micro cams, often in glasses, that record everything around them and instantly uploads it - and I always thought that was an amazing and possible future.
I'm looking forward to the google glass revolution and a gigabit google fiber net. If only I can figure out a way to make some small bit of money off it, lol. I dont need much - but i need a bit... |

fuckers http://nextbigfuture.com/2013/02/cab...margin-on.html
The cable distribution giants like Time Warner Cable and Comcast are already making a 97 percent margi n on their “almost comically profitable” Internet services, according to Craig Moffet, an analyst at the Wall Street firm Bernstein Research. As Levin points out, “If you are making that kind of margin, it’s hard to improve it.” And most Americans have no choice but to deal with their local cable company. Google fiber is mostly deploying in February and April of this year in Kansas. fuck fucking kansas - bunch of cretins get a real net first... |
