Why I Hate You Lot Today

I don't normally read the "thread of the day" threads, but this morning I got up very early (still dark) and while I drank strong coffee to tried to wake up, I read the last couple of days' worth of these threads.

I learnt that in the USA the clocks have just gone back, and that it is now spring over there.

Then it got light over here. I looked out the window, and it is snowing in England again.

So today I hate you guys!

(actually hurricane season and hot as hell season are one season)

Hot as hell season, there's one I recognize. Should be starting here again soon, lasts 6-7 months.

Other than insane electric bills I rather enjoy the Hot As Hell season since the ocean temps get up in the eighties and I love being in nice warm ocean water.

We only have two seasons over here: The cold season and the rainy season. Occasionally we have a drought season. But, because whoever controls theses things has an ironic sense of humour, the drought season is often at the same time as the rainy season (no exaggeration, we can have floods in the same area and at the same time as hosepipe usage is banned because of water shortage)!

Oh, the tourist season. Well in London that lasts all year round, so is not really a season. I regularly walk past the Tower Of London with a friend's husky, and regardless of the time of year, weather, or how much of a hurry I am in, I am liable to be stopped by a tourist who wants to take a photo of the dog with the castle in the background.

Hosepipe: it is a rubber pipe you use to water the garden. One end attaches to a tap, turn on the tap, the water runs through the pipe and comes out the other end.

Hosepipe usage: The use of the above (when there is a water shortage this is banned).

Husky: A type of dog that looks like a wolf. They are really popular in Alaska and the Northern States so you did not really need a "British to American translator" but a "Rest of America to Floridan translator".

We call that bred of dog huskies too. Just didn't think you were talking about a dog. I've heard people call the very large can of beer a husky so I pictured you walking down the street with a huge can of beer wrapped in a paper bag.

That would be a very large translator considering how many different languages are spoken here.

Florida right now has a bill that would eliminate changing out clocks. Not sure if I would want to be on standard time year round. Would much prefer daylight savings time year round.

Currently Im in Netherlands and well... it's true and it hasn't changed since long time (got first heiny in here 10 years ago) - Heineken is piss. If it's about weather it's the same - i dare to say that the saying "english weather" ought to be converted to something like "duch weather" - spent some time in both countries and believe me or not, holland sucks so much more if it's about dark cloudy and rainy days, especially if you're by the sea! ;D

ecchi: u forgot about windy season which pretty much goes on throught whole of the year in uk

need to visit it to open up ltd in there in coming months, i'm curious how it's legal adult biz things over there... might happen that you know something about that?

I rarely drink beer or anything with alcohol since I don't care for its effects but if I do have a beer it's usually Corona beer with lime at a pizza joint or some Thai beer if I'm at a sushi place.

Wind I don't mind, provided it does not come with "wind chill factors". However anything that "goes on through whole of the year" is not a season, a season is something that only happens during a specific part of the year.

A lot better than it was. When I started in this biz, back in the 1990's, I got a external hard drive to store my sites on, so that I could throw it on the floor and stamp on it if the police came calling.
