Could I get some feedback on my rating system? Insults are cool as long you give me something to improve upon.

I am in the process of using a cookie, So people couldn't reload and vote over and over. Do you think I should do that, or doesn't it even matter? Visits to my site are rare.

I am also thinking of adding numbers to the stars, cause on a phone you don't see the bottom 2 stars unless you scroll down.

I tried using tamperdata extension to see if I could send any invalid data, but nothing happened. I qualify that the input parameters are numbers in the PHP, So hopefully, I should be safe from SQL Injection. If you see ways to do any SQL injection, Please let me know.

I want to add a member login. I think I will save member votes off so people will be able to go back and change their votes.

I see no problems on the page, the only comments I can make are on the stars. they are:

1) I'd put a couple of line breaks after them, Having them sit on the bottom of the browser looks wrong to me for some reason, and feels (for no reason I can work out) amateurish.

2) I'd make them smaller too. More like the stars in the feedback rating systems places like eBay and Amazon use. I feel that would look more professional. It would also mean that you don't have the "on a phone you don't see the bottom 2 stars unless you scroll down" problem.

3) I'd also do away with the background on the stars (use gifs with transparent background). Again I feel this would look more professional.

4) They don't show as "clickable". IE when you mouse over the stars the pointer remains an arrow, it does not turn into a hand with a pointy finger. This makes it look "broken" and also the finger is an encouragement to click, you won't get as many clicks without it.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't! Cookies will piss off some surfers, and be blocked by some browsers. But without it you will get some silly results where someone votes a hundred times for one video. This will look even more pronounced if, as you say, you don't have many surfers, However even if you do get a few ridiculous results, is it worth the effort? No one will die! Democracy will not suffer! It is just a silly little game on a porn site..

Since your main (only) sponsor is AEBN which requires membership, this may interfere with this and cost you sales - people are unlikely to sign up for two things.

Just noticed that the user number changes. I first clicked on IE, got "11 users have voted" tried in Chrome, got "0 users have voted" tried IE again, got "1 user has voted".

Awesome input. Thanks for your help Ecchi. I think I was updating the votes back to zero at the same time you were checking out my site.

I will put some line breaks under the stars and I was thinking of adding a Chaturbate Iframe under the Stars. Kind of throws the looks off. But Chaturbate is the only thing for me that I seem to be able to make any money with.

I am gonna try to use your other suggestions too. I didn't notice the IE thing, I have Edge on my computer and it is the same issue. I will have to look into that.

Sorry, by IE I meant "id est" ("that is to say") not "Internet Explorer". The same problem happens on Chrome.

That is what I am thinking. Data integrity isn't too important with what I am doing.

I could also store each individual vote in a MySQL table by IP and keep a more accurate count of things, and allow people to update a vote their votes based on their IP. I would definitely do that if I had good dedicated hosting. But may be too much of a strain on my cheap shared hosting.

Thanks again for your input. Stars do look better smaller. I'm no artist and making the stars smaller helps hide that. The line breaks look better too.

I also set the onmouseover property to pointer. So the pointer should show up on the starts in your browser (IE Chrome or Internet Explorer).
