Finally done making chili :)
I was volunteered to make chili for the family's dinner tonight. A few months ago I bought a 22 quart pot for just such an occasion. I just finished making 2 pots with over 26 pounds of meat. And I don't even get a taste of it
My chili has won prizes |

Holy crap! 26 pounds of meat? Your family either eat a lot or there's a lot of them
Real chili is the best. So if you feel like sharing the recipe with GG&J members, feel free to do so |

26 pounds of meat is not really a lot for 11 gallons of chili. |

Damn, that sounds good right now. A heaping bowl of chili is perfect on cold, damp day.

Eating your own chili & then letting out a gaser that clears the room is not considered "winning a prize"

I did have a bowl. I then packed it up in over 45 containers and sent it on it's way.
Now I have to make a pot for us |

RE: "Holy crap! 26 pounds of meat? Your family either eat a lot or there's a lot of them" You should meet my brother-in-law. 26 pounds of meat would not last him long. And the annoying thing is that he is not fat.

Here you go.
http://www.bocaburger.com/recipe75.html I've served this and no one knew that it was meatless. In fact people had thought that I had started eating meat since I was serving this. Best part is look at this compared to using meat. http://www.bocaburger.com/main.aspx?m=boca_nutrition |

Meatless Chili
If you don't have a couple of pounds of steak, a couple of pounds of pork tenderloin and a couple of pounds of burger, you don't have chili |

Chili actually contains some ingredients that reduce cholesterol.
However, on average, pre-prepared vegetarian dinners have a higher fat content than pre-prepared meat dinners (i.e. TV dinners). At Kentucky Fried Chicken everything has a high fat content, but the item on the menu that has the highest fat content is a meatless salad (which also scores higher than any McDonald's burger, including the Big Mac) So, in an attempt to improve my health and get my blood pressure down I am going to fore go a vegetarian menu for a couple of juicy steaks. (P.S. I mentioned McDonalds, so do I get sent money from the company like the rappers do ?) |

Jim loves meat. He told me two things that I have never forgotten.
Its not a meal unless there's meat. Nobody's put a piece of meat in front of me that I couldn't eat. Somewhat funny story: I remember him saying he wasn't feeling well when we were in NYC, and the cab ride from the hotel to the restaurant he kept saying he wasn't feeling very good. At the restaurant when they presented the menu and he reminded us that he was feeling a little sick. I think there was some good natured ribbing regarding his meat statement, and he ended up ordering the 36oz Porterhouse. We downed a bottle of wine, he ate Asparagus or Brocolli(?) & a potato, both made for two, and then had room for desert. Jim's own version of 'Shock and Awe' haha
