Crowd Power
Last weekend I went to a music festival in the glorious surroundings of the Scottish glens. The festival was based around a 1970's and soon to be re released film, called 'the Wicker Man'.
The culminaton of the festival was the burning if a 35ft man made of Reeds..I was totaly caught up with 10,000 strong crowd as they chanted 'Burn him, burn him'..the odd fact is that the 'Wicker Man' is a pagan rite..where a real person would have been burned alive...It was easy to see how a lynch mob could carry out terrible crimes..... |

I've been up close and personal with mob mentality before and it's scary how one losses inhibitions and becomes part of something instead of being someone.
