How to get some traffic to my site
Hey guys..
About 2 weeks ago I started my own site.. http://www.bestxxxmedia.com and started trading links with other sites, now im getting about 50 uniques a day. The numbers arent climbing and I'm kinda wondering why.. Can you guys help me out and tell me what I should do to get rid of this problem, or does it just takes alot of time..? Thanks in advance, Schpork

Feeder sites. Submit free sites to link lists and not only will this make you money thru sponsor links but you can place links to your own site to feed it traffic. Or you could submit galleries to TGPs and place your own recip on every gallery page that you submit. Those are the two best methods you can do for free, of course you could always look into buying traffic, but if your new to the biz and just trying to figure things out I wouldnt reccemend buying traffic.
You cant just throw up up page, trade some links and expect everyone to come running to your site and make the big bucks. Traffic takes lots of work and lots of time to build.

Figure out some keywords you want to target, keep getting links to your site, and have them use the kws you want in the anchor text. Also, you may be able to join some toplists or something like that to trade some of your traffic. Hope this helps. ![]() |

Instead of focusing on getting rid of something you should adopt a positive attitude and focus on what you want. Here is what I propose. Build a pop-under page and fill it with 20-30 relevant toplist links. Link to it from your home page. This will ensure it gets indexed. Code the pop-under java script so that it is triggered only once per browser session. You can also use a cookie to set it to once per week, etc.. Get rid of all your reciprocal links on the first page. At a minimum put them at the bottom of your home page. I suggest you have a separate reciprocal link page. The way your site is designed, the reciprocal links are a massive leak in your site. Link to sponsor reviews such as those proposed by rabbitreviews.com At least you increase the probability of making money with your exit traffic. Feed your site just like the other posts suggest. If you don't want to build and submit galleries, you can use ChokerTraffic to send traffic to your site directly. All of this will contribute to get the traffic flywheel going. Good luck |

Just remember, that's a great way to piss off any surfers you currently have.

It'll also piss off your link trade partners and eliminate any chance of future trades.

You can also set your pop-under to once a month, if your surfer has cookie enables. If he doesn't then who cares. CCbill won't work and many cookie based program won't either. Greenie's comments are rather radical. Mainstream sites are now defeating the popup blocker and using other techniques to get their ads in your face for one reason: It works and people do go back to the site when it is relevant. |

This board is composed mostly of webmasters who follow a no bullshit philisophy when it comes to the surfer and our fellow webmasters. Most of us would deny any link exchange request where the requesting site has any type of pop, be it every visit or once per millenium.

Again, most webmaster (95%) account for 5% of affiliate commissions. This might be hard to swallow but that's reality! I'm not too concerned about being like every body else. |

We're a group of hard working webmasters that don't fuck with our surfers with consoles or pop-unders or circle jerks or blind links or poor advertising practices. We all basically build sites that we would have no problem surfing ourselves. Your ideas seem to be different from those - and that's fine but you're going to meet a lot of opposition on this board. I'll admit that your last 2 threads over in Products & Services led me to believe you were some sort of spamming kook, but this thread has proven me wrong on that assumption. I'm not going to ban you because of your position on what marketing practices are good or bad, but I really think that my last statement is correct: this board is not a good place for you. |

10 posts into the forum is very early to assess my contribution. You're the one with the ban button. I suggest you re-assess the situation 50 posts from now. If you don't want to do that, I'll leave for good. |

Establish a links page on your site as soon as possible. This will allow you to swap promotion with other relevant and quality sites.
and also search engine submission should be your first step when you create a website. Avoid any services that charge you to submit to a number of sites. Most of these sites are too small to bother with and you can find the larger ones on your own. Also submit to niche sites, such as search engines for your area or industry. |

If your site is worth linking to, ask some related sites to link to yours. It'll help if you've already linked to such sites yourself, but don't make your link to them contingent on whether they link back. if your site isn't worth linking to, then improve your site before you go asking for links. Just my 2 cent's. |

It's 2 different things. TGP scripts run TGP's & Wordpress runs Blogs.

Here are some ideas: Search engines- try to optimize everything that you do for them along the way. Read up. Check the SE forums here (which are good) and http://www.searchengineforums.com for what to do. You can work more at this later once you learn more about the business. Linkslists- You've found the right place for that! Read around this forum for a few hours, especially in the Lkinkslist and getting listed section. TGP submissions- read this forum in the TGP section a little. Submit to only a few of the smaller places here at first. Ideally some of the people on this orum who own TGPs. Chances are good they will "hold your hand" a little more as you learn the ropes more so than other TGPs will. You do not want to get baqnned by everyone before you learn what you are doing. TGP traffic is less in quality than linklists though. Adult Forums- Submit content pages for free sites also to *ADULT* forums that will allow you to list your galleries. Maybe duplicate those content pages so you can take advaqntage of more lax rules and use those to submit to forums. An extra 5,000+ uniques per day is very doable with this. Traffic quality will be bad though. NOT EVERY FORUM ALLOWS THIS. DO NOT DO THIS ON NON-ADULT FORUMS AS IT IS SPAMMING! Traffic Pump 1- Build what is essentially a free site or TGP gallery if you prefer. Submit it to a few forums or even linkslists that will allow this. Register with 1 -3 toplists (preferably with no popups). List the top lists somewhere on the site in a inconspicuous spot (you want to try pitching your sponsors first). Do not make it a blind link or anything but use something like: TEEN TOP 100 - More Teen Sites Here! Place the two toplist links next to each other. The idea is that the toplists will be seeded with traffic from the forums or free sites (or your hub, etc) and then will in turn send traffic to you. So 500 hits becomes 750, 1000 hits becomes 1250 hits, etc. Try to make sure that you can always send enough to be at least listed on the toplist somewhere. Note: Many linkslists and TGP galleries will frown on this. Use it only where traffic sources allow. Most important thing now is to READ everything you possibly can on the industry. Be a sponge. Spend six hours here reading around. (not kidding) Check out other places and read too. But remember not always will people share everything with you...as you are competition. It is a tough business. Real tough. Don't count on it being easy. Last edited by Allfetish; 2007-04-08 at 03:24 PM.. |

With viruses and spyware these days popups are scary to surfers...
Popups in any shape or form spells a quick exit in my opinion.. If you have to resort to popups, you might as well start writing your website on the walls of all the public restrooms you use too.. You would probably get more repeat traffic from the restrooms... LOL... SizzleXXX.com |
