I tested the generator last night with 16000 BTU of cooling power -- ugh. The 10000 btu window unit used 2250 watts based on the meter on the panel and the ammeter. The 5200btu unit used almost 7000 to start, 3500 to run. So, I'll be returning it today and replacing it with another 10000btu unit. Seems dumb, but, the small unit didn't have a scroll compressor and the large one that cools more room is not only more efficient, but, has a scroll compressor and uses less power. I find it amazing that for $200 you can buy a SEER 9.7/10000 btu window unit that uses less power than a $134 SEER 9.2/5200 btu unit.

I think the neighbors looked at me a little strangely as I was testing the generator last night with the A/C units, but, thank goodness I tested beforehand rather than waiting for an event.

A little windy up here today but the sun is peeking through. Stupid LNB on the satellite dish decided to go bad. Not sure if I feel like going on the roof today to replace it. Also need to crawl up in the attic and find a cat5 cable that has one end coming out near the TV and the other end mysteriously never appears in the closet. Windy day, some sun, attic fan isn't on yet, so, its got to be below 90F up there. Then my wife can stop tripping over the cable that my nephew has run to his XBox from the office to the living room.

And a little coding thrown in.
