Replacing a TV Lamp

We have a 55" Sony Grand Wega LCD Projection TV. After saying, "why is this movie so dark" for the past few weeks I finally figured out that it needs a new lamp.

Has anyone ever replaced one? I don't think it is very difficult since when we bought it the nice man at CircuitCity wanted to sell me the extended warranty for $300. He told me that if within 3 years the lamp burned out they would send me one and I would change it. That's another thing...the lamp only costs about $150. We would have had to have 2 of them burn out in the past 3 years to match the cost of the warranty.
