We had a nasty rainstorm (mini tornado) last friday. It rained SUPER HARD for 1 hour straight. In that hour, several parts of the greater toronto area had experienced flooding, damaged trees, abandoned cars, scattered debris, etc.
I realize it was only an hour but it was the strongest rainstorm I've ever seen in Toronto - EVER. I was talking to a friend of mine that was driving on the highway (freeway if you live in the US) and at one point he pulled over onto the shoulder because he just couldn't see anymore! The newspapers are reporting that the damage from this storm is the tens of millions of dollars and that insurance companies are being slammed with calls and complaints.
