It's my day - 22-years in the Air Force, most of it away from home (or in places I made my home). I miss the brotherhood but it was time to move on.

Coffee's on for all.....

Any time in the UK?

I think we only have a couple of US bases left here now.

Spent 13 years in Deutschland, while in the Europe, I trained mototcycle safety instructors for the AF - we used to train at RAF Uxbridge and RAF Lakenheath. Used to love to head on up to the Lake District for a weekend ride. Attached is a pic at Lakenheath taken in 1998.

Lake district is awesome on a bike, not so much in the winter though.

Lakenheath is still a US base i think or was a few years ago when 2 F15s screamed overhead when i was up that way.

You never got to Greenham common then, they've just ripped up the runway which was 25ft deep concrete.
Still got all the bunkers and everything though.

Never got up that way but my traveling days are not over. The rug-rats live in Germany and I get to Europe 4 or so times each year. I try to travel with the kids - went to Spain last year... Had a great time.
